It’s great to have a business — but how can it be successful if it consistently stays stagnant? Probably one of the biggest indicators of a healthy business is the way in which it grows over time. Ultimately, whether in business or in life, we must always be looking to improve in order to stay afloat. (this is where marketing hacks come in …)

When it comes to your business, there are many ways you can grow your company.

It’s important to be ahead of the times, to deliver quality products and great customer service, but marketing also plays a pivotal role. Luckily, there are a few easy marketing hacks you can employ that will help grow your business.

My Top 3 Marketing Hacks:

1. Get Published Somewhere (Anywhere)

Publicity is a major player when it comes to growing your business. Your customers will be undoubtedly helpful in spreading the word, but chances are that getting your message published somewhere will be much more impactful and influential.

Nowadays, there are a multitude of options when it comes to getting “published”.

There are more traditional methods where you can work with a writer or editor to get interviewed and published in a newspaper or online blog in an article-style piece. There are also alternate methods, and in the influencer era, a common way to increase a brand’s publicity is to work with one. No matter your industry, chances are there is some type of influencer in your space that can help boost your name recognition and help you grow your business.

Regardless, no matter the medium, it’s important to harness the power of publicity. (I have some AMAZING resources on this just email me and I’ll send your way!)

2. Swap with Another Brand

Looking to expand your customer pool and find people that have a similar profile? A great way to do that is to connect to an adjacent brand that offers something different but still has a similar customer base.

Collaborating with another brand — whether that’s to offer a giveaway, do a social media takeover, have them create a social post about your business, or even create a joint product — can do wonders for growing your business.

3. SEO, SEO, SEO

Without proper search engine optimization (SEO), sadly your marking efforts will go to waste, which is why it’s important to optimize your content for search engines like Google.

When people are searching on Google, you want to rank well in the results, which means you need to use the right keywords. To help, you can employ sites such as Keyword Tool to help see what the most popular keywords are that you can then integrate into your content. There’s a fine line between using them enough so that Google knows what your site is about, but not so much that your content gets marked as spam.

Here are 4 SEO best practices:

  1. Add your keywords early on in your content (within the first 200 words)
  2. Optimize images (file sizes that are too large won’t rank well)
  3. Write new and unique titles/descriptions to avoid getting flagged as duplicate content
  4. Add ALT text to your images to help Google understand what they are

At the end of the day, if you want to grow your business, you must employ some marketing hacks OK OK, — tactics. Whether that’s improving your SEO or getting published on even the smallest of blogs, every little thing counts.

Focus on making small growths each day, which will add up to major success at the end of the year. I believe in you!
